As of August 1, 2021 Mariana Gerenova took over the position of a Complex Manager for all production assets of AES Bulgaria. She is be responsible for the operations of TPP AES Galabovo, the Waste Disposal Facility and St. Nikola Wind Farm.

Mariana brings 30 years of experience in the energy sector, 15 of which with AES. She was one of the first employees to join the AES Galabovo project in 2007. Mariana holds a Master's degree in Thermal and Nuclear Energy from the Technical University in Sofia. She acquired additional qualifications in Brandenburg University of Technology, Korea Electric Power Corporation and Korea International Cooperation Agency and Darden School of Business, University of Virginia.

In 2008, Mariana Gerenova took over the Material Handling Department at AES Bulgaria. From February 2012 to January 2020, she was responsible for the Engineering Department. Since last year she has been entrusted with the managerial position of Manager Performance & Asset Management for Eurasia.
