For the 16th consecutive year, AES’ TPP in Galabovo has presented gifts to all children in the Galabovo Municipality who are entering school for the first time. The most modern coal-fired power plant in Bulgaria gave 100 backpacks full of school materials and supplies to the first-graders at 1st primary school St. Paisii Hilendarski, 2nd primary school Hristo Botev, secondary school Vassil Levski and primary school St. Kiril and Metodii in the village of Obruchishte. Backpacks were also given to first-graders of AES Bulgaria employees throughout the country.
‘For every child, the first day at school is filled with excitement because it is the beginning of the long path to maturity and the accumulation of knowledge. That is why we at AES Bulgaria wish them good luck and much success going forward because knowledge is power. We are happy that, for another year, we can be part of the celebration of first-graders at Galabovo’s schools,’ said Mariana Gerenova, Complex Manager for AES Production Assets in Bulgaria.
Providing all the necessary supplies for the first-graders is part of AES Bulgaria’s CSR program, which amounts to almost BGN 16 million since the start of the company’s activities in Bulgaria. Education is among the top priorities in the program, which aims to encourage the development of young people in the region, to stimulate their curiosity and skills, and to enhance their confidence and self-esteem.
