AES Bulgaria is actively assisting in providing the best treatment to the injured workers and is investigating the causes of the accident

Yesterday, September 30, on the territory of TPP AES Galabovo two workers – one from TPP AES Galabovo and the other from a contractor company – suffered an accident during maintenance works at the shaft of a pumping station for domestic wastewater.

The two workers were immediately evacuated to ‘Stoyan Kirkovich’ Hospital in Stara Zagora. One of the injured workers suffered a brain concussion. Last night, he underwent a surgery and his condition is stable, according to the doctors.

The other injured worker is in a coma and has pulmonary edema. According to the doctors, his vital signs have been stabilized but his condition remains serious. He is on ventilation, with the medical team taking all necessary resuscitation actions.

The management of AES Bulgaria is in a constant contact with the doctors. The company actively assists in providing the best treatment to the injured colleagues.

As of yesterday, all responsible institutions have been informed and provided full assistance in the accident investigation. AES Bulgaria is conducting its own investigation of the case in which senior safety officials of AES are involved.
