AES Bulgaria and Galabovo Municipality sign Cooperation Agreement

At an official ceremony today, AES Bulgaria and Galabovo Municipality signed a Cooperation Agreement in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility. According  to the Contract, AES will support a series of beneficial initiatives to the society, which will improve the standard of living for all the citizens in the Municipality. The new Agreement is a natural continuation of the long-term engagement AES has toward Galabovo Municipality and the good relations between the two sides.

“I am extremely happy to sign this Cooperation Agreement between AES and Galabovo Municipality. This contract builds on the excellent relationship between the Municipality and AES and is an example of the positive results in our project implementation”, stated the President of AES Bulgaria Olivier Marquette during the ceremony. “Over the years this Agreement has evolved into a stable and beneficial partnership, because it is dedicated to the most important cause – improving people’s lives”, he added.

AES will continue to support the traditional annual initiatives the Municipality hosts, which have established themselves as a key part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme. Since 2006, AES has invested over 6.9 million Euro in Social Programmes in the Galabovo area. The main focus on the company’s CSR programme is the improvement of infrastructure, education and care for children and young people. As a part of it, last year an entirely renovated Youth Center was opened in the town. The total investment in the reconstruction of the building reached 2.2 million Euro. At the moment it is the most modern facility of its kind in the region.
