“AES Bulgaria Tennis Stars” to look for talents in 20 cities across the country
May 10, 2017
33 tennis clubs from 20 cities in the country will participate in the “AES Bulgaria Tennis Stars” campaign, a joint initiative of AES Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Tennis Federation. The initiative was officially launched today by Olivier Marquette, CEO of AES Bulgaria on the courts of the National Tennis Center.
“At AES Bulgaria we believe that improving peoples’ lives is all that really matters and our main objective is to give the next generation of young tennis stars an opportunity to develop their skills – and some may even take their places alongside the best in the world someday. Who knows – maybe here we will find the next Roger Federer or Grigor Dimitrov. But in order for that to happen we have to ensure they have the necessary conditions to grow and prosper. I hope with this initiative, we will be able to achieve that.” Olivier Marquette announced at the official opening of the campaign.
The “AES Bulgaria Tennis Stars” campaign is the first of its kind and scale in Bulgaria. It is part of the strong social responsibility program of AES Bulgaria, which is mainly targeted toward young people in the country.
“AES Bulgaria Tennis Stars” aims to educate and support the young tennis talents in Bulgaria. A team of renowned Bulgarian tennis coaches, who have developed their coaching skills abroad, together with former national Davis Cup and Fed Cup players will organize educational sports tennis seminars between May and September this year. The first cities to host the sports initiative are Gabrovo, Plovdiv, Sofia, Varna, Peshtera, Troyan, Dryanovo, Stara Zagora and Shumen.
During the seminars there will be training sessions at the tennis clubs with the children. There will also be discussions with their coaches and parents, and individual programs will be prepared under the guidance of the traveling coaches. The list of prominent names among the participating trainers includes Matey Pampulov, Bozhidar Pampulov, Julian Stamatov, Lyubomira Bacheva, Todor Enev, Ivo Bratanov, Ivaylo Traykov and others.
Since 2006, TPP AES Galabovo, part of AES Bulgaria business portfolio, has invested over 6.8 million euros in social programs in the Galabovo region.
