Dozens of students from Galabovo take part in the annual AES martenitsa competition
March 1, 2018
For the tenth consecutive year, AES Bulgaria organized a contest for the most original martenitsa, made by students from the municipality of Galabovo. The traditional competition is a joint initiative of AES Bulgaria and Galabovo Municipality.
Students from 22 classes between the third and sixth grade participated in the competition. The children once again impressed the jury with beautiful artworks. The jury, consisting of representatives of AES Bulgaria‘s top leadership, selected the students from the 5B grade from “Vasil Levski” Secondary School as the winners of the competition. The prize for them is a one-day trip to a destination from the 100 national tourist sites of Bulgaria of their choice. At the end of the contest, all participants shared a cake.
Traditionally, AES Bulgaria will give the martenitsa artworks, created by the children in Galabovo, to the President Rumen Radev, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and heads of state institutions, wishing them health and well-being.
The competition is part of the AES corporate social responsibility program aimed at supporting Bulgarian traditions and customs and promoting the creative talents of children in the region.
