In January 2024, St. Nikola Wind Farm generated 20% more green energy M/M. The turbines of the largest wind farm in Bulgaria produced 51, 031 MWh of energy in the past month compared to 42,290 MWh in December 2023.
‘This is a promising start of the year for the wind farm which in 2023 marked a record output since its commissioning to date’, Ivan Tzankov, Managing Director of AES Bulgaria commented.
In 2023, AES Bulgaria’s wind facility generated 372,485 MWh of green electricity, equal to the annual consumption of more than 100,000 Bulgarian households. This means that last year, all households in the Dobrich and Silistra regions for example used entirely wind energy. Thus, AES Bulgaria has once again demonstrated consistency with the trend where Saint Nikola WPP ensures greener power consumption for thousands of households in northeastern Bulgaria.
‘In addition to energy security and energy affordability, AES has always made it a priority to protect the environment and generate electricity in the most environmentally friendly way possible. AES continues its efforts to secure a more sustainable energy future for Bulgaria by accelerating the future of energy,’ Ivan Tzankov added.
