On the occasion of the first day of school, AES’ TPP in Galabovo gave gifts to the first-graders in Galabovo municipality

On the occasion of the first day of school, AES’ TPP in Galabovo delighted all of the first graders in Galabovo and the village of Obruchishte. For the fifteenth consecutive year, the most modern coal-fired power plant in Bulgaria gave school backpacks filled with resources and materials to every child in the Municipality of Galabovo who entered a school for the first time. 93 first-graders from the primary schools ‘St. Paisii Hilendarski’, ‘Hristo Botev’, ‘Vasil Levski’ secondary school, and ‘Sv. Sv. Cyril and Methodii’ in the village of Obruchishte were assisted by the charitable initiative. The first-graders of AES Bulgaria employees nationwide also received school backpacks. 

‘Everything begins with knowledge! September 15th is a new beginning for every first-grader. This is the start of a lengthy journey toward maturity and knowledge, which opens opportunities. We at AES Bulgaria therefore wish you luck and success in the future’, Mariana Gerenova, Complex Manager of AES Bulgaria, greeted the first-graders, teachers, and parents. ‘We are glad to be part of your celebration - the first day of school - once again’, she added.

Providing all the supplies required for the first-graders is part of AES Bulgaria's CSR program, which amounts to over BGN 16 million since the start of the company’s operations in the country. The education is one of the top priorities of this program, which strives to support the growth of young people in the region, foster their abilities and curiosity, and boost their self-confidence and self-esteem.
