TPP AES Galabovo presented the first-graders in the municipality with school bags and materials for the first school day for another consecutive year

For twelve years in a row, the most modern coal-fired power plant in Bulgaria – TPP AES Galabovo has surprised the first-graders in the municipality by presenting them with school bags full of school materials and supplies. In compliance with the measures against the coronavirus spread, 118 children, who crossed the doorsteps of Galabovo schools for the first time, were made happy with the school supplies provided by TPP AES Galabovo.

‘Despite the challenges that 2020 brings us, we follow the 12-year-long tradition to support the first-graders in Galabovo Municipality. For every child, the first school day is full of excitement from the unknown but also with many smiles and expectations. This is the beginning of a long journey of maturing and accumulating knowledge for every child. That’s why, all of us at AES Bulgaria wish them good luck and success from now on’, the Managing Director of AES Bulgaria Ivan Tzankov said.

Providing all the necessary supplies for the first-graders is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility program of AES Bulgaria. For the last 11 years, the company has supported various socially significant projects for nearly BGN 15 million. And education is among the top priorities in the Corporate Social Responsibility program of the company, which aims to encourage the development of young people in the region, stimulate their curiosity and skills, and raise their confidence and self-esteem.
